Master
Jang Hyuk was born on 3 October 1969 in Seoul Korea.
Already at the tender age of 10 years he began with Taekwondo training in his primaryschool
Kwang Hee.
Early on the extraordinary
talent of Master Jang was recognized. With thirteen years he passed the black belt promotion test in the Kukkiwon the Taekwondo headquarters. He was nominated for the junior demonstration national team.
At the age of twenty he began his studies for physical education at the Hanguk Chede the national sport university of Korea. By the same time he began his career as a professional TaekwondoFighter. At the university he trained daily up to eight hours a day to reach his big dream of a world championship
Gold medal. 1989 he was nominated in the national team and won in this year the ninth
world championship in Greece. 1991 two years later master Jang achieved another gold medal at the tenth world championship. After this success he ended his career and withdrew undefeated as a double world champion with over 100 titles. While he was Headcoach of the
Korean university team he won a world championship. From 2000 to 2008 master Jang was coach of the Swiss national team. It was always his constant endeavors to teach a synthesis between modern sports analyses and traditional martial art. In this sense he is more than a coach. He is a Sabonim a master.
Today Master Jang lives with his wife and his two children in
Winterthur.
